Study On The Image System In Narrative Poems Of Northwest Nationalities

The narrative poems of Northwest nationalities are important constituent part of the Chinese multi-ethnic narratives'system. The study object for this thesis is the images of all descriptions, which appeared in the love narrative poems, heroic narrative poems and the Three Great Epics of Northwest minorities. It relies on the theory of folk literature, combining the theories of the related disciplines, like anthropology, ecology,science of religions, etc. And documentary analysis is used for generalizing and analyzing the figures, the natural images, supernatural and surrealistic images. Based on these, this paper digs the cultural connotation implied in it, with an overall scientific systemic image system taking shape initially. This research not only further expands the study field of the narrative poems of Northwest nationalities and supplies the materials about Northwest minorities'history and life for research, but it also has a great significance for comprehending the narrative poems of Northwest minorities and the literature of Northwest minorities and even the entire research and development of the Chinese literature. The innovative points of this article are mainly manifested by the author's bringing the natural images of plants, animals, mountains and rivers as well as the supernatural, surrealistic images of deities and demons into the study of the image system in narrative poems of Northwest minorities. Being an academic pioneering and development, it will surely enrich and help develop the image system of the minority literature and even the entire Chinese literature to a great extent.
