The Statement On The Current Development Of Cultural Soft Strength In China

General Secretary Hu Jintao adhering to the basic creed which is constituted to the basic objectives and basic policies of the socialist economic construction, cultural construction , and social construction with Chinese characteristics Communist Party of China 17th National People's Congress, proposed the policy and guild line contemporary Chinese cultural construction and for the first time brought forward to the new concept of the cultural soft strength. The cultural soft strength is the role's embodiment of culture in our country's historical development up to the minute, at the same time it shows a deeper cultural understanding and a more accurate positioning.Cultural soft strength is embodied in the "soft" power of the invisible, which is the nature of the regress of the traditional culture in our country. Over the years, Chinese leaders have attached great importance to the role of culture, and have inherit and carry forward the culture of Marxist philosophy continuously, and explore out a distinct line with Chinese characteristics and the socialist path of development of advanced culture. However at this stage, the cultural development of our country is also faced with various problems and challenges: cultural innovations such as the weakness of the cultural innovations; the socialist market economy brought about some non-traditional cultural values of some cultural phenomenon, and the advantages of the traditional cultural resources is obvious, but the traditional cultural resources is far from to dig ,use and protect and so on. In addition to the above series of problems, the Chinese culture needs to address the challenges in their own development. The greatest challenge is from the west strong cultural erosion and infiltration of the current economic globalization. At the same time, in order to cater to the cultural hegemony, a small number of people with ulterior motives in our country promoting the "universal values" is also one of the challenges of development of China's cultural soft power.Facing to such domestic and international challenges of cultural development, China requires its own culture as the core, and improves China's cultural soft power from all kinds of aspects, which always demands to build our socialist core value system, consolidate the common idea which the whole people of all ethnic groups struggle ,improve the quality of the humanities, carry out extensive activities of the masses to build spiritual civilization, vigorously promote cultural innovation, develop the cultural undertakings and cultural industries, change the cultural resources country to cultural economic country, shape the country's cultural image through continuous enhancement of the core elements and modern elements of Chinese culture the image, occupy the commanding heights of cultural development to reply many challenges and to win the advantage in the national competition. We should also be fully aware that owing to the identity of cultural formation and development, the improvement of the cultural soft power is a long-term historical process. The construction of the cultural soft power is a systematic project in fact and requires the government to promote and all citizens to participate.
