Further Exploration On Cultural Soft Power

Since American professor Joseph S. Nye proposes the concept "Soft Power", a lot of domestic and foreign scholars, experts, professors, politicians pay close attention to this field. For social science concept is hard to do quantitative analysis like natural science, so for now the interpretation of the concept, connotation, structure and function of soft power, are also unable to agree widely, it is also difficult to achieve unification. By February,2012, search for "soft power"in China journal full-text database, records for4118articles; Search for "cultural soft power", records for1923articles; Search for "national cultural soft power", records for308articles. Visibly, in current, research of soft power and cultural soft power in China has made a lot of achievements, the researchers also become more and more. In2007, the reports of the Party’s seventeenth congress proposed "enhance the national cultural soft power" firstly, since then to research the soft power already rose to the level of national strategy, cultural soft power has also become an important part of China’s overall strength. In2011, the Party’s seventh session of the Sixth Plenary Session put forward again to "enhance the national cultural soft power, improve the worldwide influence of Chinese culture", therefore, deepening the theory of cultural soft power, exploring and enhancing China’s cultural soft power, have become one of the important tasks. At present, there comes to an agreement in academic circles, namely the cultural soft power has become a part of the comprehensive national strength more and more, the combination of the soft power and hard power like military and economy, has become the important impetus of the development of the contemporary society more and more.This paper is divided into five parts. The first part is the introduction, which introduces research background and significance of the cultural soft power briefly. The second part interprets the basic theories of the cultural soft power, from the connotation of the cultural soft power and analysis of the concept, basic structures and main features. According to the logical sequence to the analysis of raising the concept of cultural soft power, use and development, it lays a theoretical foundation for the full text. After the introduction of the basic theories of soft power in first and second part, it focuses on the research of China’s cultural soft power and expounding China’s present construction situation from the third part, which includes construction achievements and deficiency.The third part of the paper belongs to "analysis" part of three elements of a paper. On the one hand,it affirms the existing achievements of China’s cultural soft power construction, on the other hand,it analyses the manifestations and causes of the deficiency of China’s cultural soft power construction, which provides targeted basis for the next part of " solving problems ".The fourth part begins with the overall strategic situation of China’s cultural soft power construction, in view of the shortcomings, to analyze the strategy of the cultural soft power and enhance China’s cultural soft power. This part is the foothold and home of the whole paper, in order to put forward some opinions for developing China’s cultural soft power, which belongs to the part of "solving problems". The fifth part is summary.
