A Comparative Study Of Chinese And Thai Idiomatic Expressions As Related To "The Body"

Language is mankind's most important instrument of communication, vocabulary is the language of construction materials. Directly reflects the vocabulary of the language of society at large in real life all the changes happen and people of objective things and the level of awareness of the situation.Language is an important carrier of culture. History and culture of different nationalities, religious beliefs, customs, ways of thinking, different value, and therefore will be directly on the language to reflect these differnces. Third, different countries and cultural backgrounds, put specific things in the abstract language into the language of the course will be different in different cultures in the context of people always in accordance with their respective cultural backgrounds and life experiences to determine the specific meaning of language. More importantly, when it comes to the rich vocabulary of each country can not be regardless of the idiom. Idiom is a special vocabulary, it is a highly condensed summary of the people in the social activity of the various practical experience, are the crystallization of human understanding, reflects a nations' history and culture. Idioms are the essence of language, so they more focused and unique reflection of the similarities and differences among ethnic groups.This paper contains a study of Chinese and Thai Proverb which included "Eyes, Head, Hand, Mouth, Heart" morpheme idioms (later referred to as the "Chinese and Thai Body idiom"), they are Key parts of the human body often appears in the idiom. This article has put the relevant body to conduct a series of Chinese and Thai systematic comparative study. Research on the Chinese-Thai Body idioms and their similarities and differences, not only for the study of Chinese-Thai idiom has a certain theoretical significance, but also in the teaching of the Chinese-Thai also has practical value.Significance of this paper analyzed three categories: Chinese-Thai proverbs with the same organ of the body express the same or similar meaning; Chinese Idioms with body organs, bu the Thai proberb or other things in different organs of the body to express the meaning of the same or similar; Thai idioms with body organs and Chinese idioms with body organs can not be comparison.
