A Study Of The Application Of Traditional Chinese Auspicious Patterns In Modern Living Spaces

The long history and profound culture of China have given birth to numerous long-standing artistic presentations. Traditional Chinese auspicious patterns are the essence of the combination of the traditional Chinese culture and artistic design, which express the Chinese people's admiration and pursuit of happy life. The patterns bear with themselves profound cultural connotation and characteristics of Chinese. Their rich formats and delicate designs are of unique artistic value. The artful application of these patterns in modern living spaces will inherit and carry forward the traditional Chinese decoration methods of living spaces and in the meantime enhance the design of modern living and ultimately will promote the decoration of modern living spaces in China with its national regional and cultural characteristics.The current study attempts to probe into the origins, characteristics, themes, categorization, formats, and meanings of auspicious patterns and studies the concepts, characteristics, present status, and developing trends of modern design of living spaces, trying to find new ways and styles of applying the traditional Chinese auspicious patterns to modern living so as to combine artistic design with modern life in a harmonious manner.
