Pre-Qin period music education left human a sum of great spirit fortune,as well is the headstream of traditional music. Ancient music thought, aesthetics thought, educational thought's etc, all these can find their existence at this stage. So, many historians, thinkers, educationists, philosophers and other eductors focus on their reseach fields at this stage and they leave many very valuable documents. But, regrettably a sum of plenty of spirit heritages during this period have been lost. Wang guang qi who payed attention to this period's research and promoted the idea of "Renewal Music Education" in germany as one of the beginning of the reseach project light up a wind of little spark on pre-Qin ancient music education in china. This thesis is maily as pre-Qin period thought the study object, and put it in Chinese cultural environment, through professionnal exploration to find the advantages and disadvantages, so as to discovers the gain and loss during this period, the enlightenment to present music education. This research based on music education and music education philosophy and historiography's concept, by using humanism research orientation, involves cross studying of many subjects, such as pedagogics, philosophy of music education, music history of education, history of Chinese education, history of Chinese educational ideology, history of Chinese cultural, history of Chinese aesthetics, music history, Chinese history, Chinese ancient music education,etc.Based on the study and analysis of ancient documents, this thesis consists of five parts, the first part for researche is the cause of this study, the second part is pre-Qin period ritual music and music education, the third part is the music education thought during pre-Qin period, the fourth part is the analysis of music education during pre-Qin period, the fifth part is the educational enlightenment to present music education we should learn from music come out from pre-Qin period. Through scientific analysis and research, to clears off pre-Qirn period music education, the gain and loss of it. Thus we can learn from history, clear discrimination the music educational tendency, show the music educational developing direction. From the above study the conclusions of thesis are:1. Music education's chief task is to cultivate the music artistical appreciation of beauty experience; 2. Music education needs the concept "people foremost" so as to implements humanize's education; 3. Music education needs strengthen connection between human culture and scientific education in order to wide the eyeshot of music education; 4. Perfects courses of music education so as to promote music gnosis, performance, invention, appreciating abilities; 5. Music education needs understand many entity culture and make well communication between mainland and foreign music and keep healthy balance of them.
