Chinese literary theory happened huge change and made solid results in new period. Overall, literary theory passed from simple to various and from various to comprehensive in this period, that is from "reflection" which is dominant before reforming to "aesthetics", "subjection" and "symbol" are popular in 1980s. Among them, "aesthetics" is more popular and as a matter of fact at the center. In the 1990s, a new trend to communication and dialogue, comprehensive and innovation displayed on the ground of multi-polarization and diverse development.In accordance with the above-mentioned ideas, I divided the 30-year Chinese literary theory history into three phases in this article, at the end of the 1970s to the early 1980s is the "critical" and "reflection" stage; the mid-1980s to the early 1990s as a "multi-construction" phase; and since the mid-1990s as a "rebuilding" phase. So "critic" and "reflection", "regression" and "aesthetics", "communication" and "comprehensive" respectively became the "key words" in the three stages of Chinese literary theory development.The developing history of 30 years Chinese literary theory illustrate: to "communication and dialogue", "comprehensive and innovation" on the literary theory is not only necessary demand to face present diversification, cross and complication of Chinese literary theory's development, but also the main developing direction of Chinese literary theory in the twenty-first century and historic task that contemporary scholars should take.
