| Mr. Xu Xingxiao is a famous music educator, singer and vocal music theorist. He has published several books as well as vocal musical psychology papers on the national core journals and provincial publications which all related to vocal music theory.By seeing the vocal musical psychology research was weak, he opened up the courage to this academic field in the year of 1987 to establish vocal musical psychology, a branch of the musical psychology. And through the systematic exploration and research, he created a theory of contemporary vocal arts and scientific system which finally exerted an epoch-making significance for the sound development and improvement of the Discipline of Vocal Music due to its characteristic of forward-looking, scientific, comprehensive, systematic, and develop with the times.This theory fills the gap of psychological study in China by absorbing essence from the knowledge of psychology and educational psychology, breaking through the limitation of traditional skills of single vocal teaching. And finally a significant effect in practice are achieved which lays a solid theoretical foundation and makes pioneering contributions for the establishment of "Vocal Psychology" discipline system in China.Based on musicology, Philosophy and sociology, as well as the classification and analysis of the vocal musical psychology, this paper systematically traces back to the Mr. Xu Xingxiao's theoretical study and summarizes the characteristics and functions of his vocal musical psychology from the following aspects such as"the rise of vocal musical psychology and the Discipline of Vocal Music in China","Xu Xingxiao's life and achievements","his core ideas","his value and influence"and"the perfection and developmentof his theory". Finally, due to the pragmatic and far-reaching significance for the theoretical research of vocal music in China, this article urges more and more understanding of his achievements on vocal music ideas and academic thoughts, so as to carry forward his valuable experience both in psychology and theory. |
