Spreading, Transmission And Development

The traditional Chinese music is now facing an increasingly serious survival crisis,which is more and more marginalized in radio and television media. This is due mainly to the following reasons:the discrepancy between traditional Chinese music and its ecological environment against the social background of transition of the society;the tendency of profit-chasing of media values caused by commercialized operating patterns;the preference in program choosing and producing resulted from the music and cultural beliefs and music as well as artistic accomplishment of editors and producers;the continuity of spreading of traditional Chinese music in radio and television media influenced by the shortage of audio-visual products and professionals in this field. To promote the spreading of Chinese traditional music in mass media,staff working in radio and television media should know clearly their social roles and historical reaponsibilities,and bear the unshirkable historical responsibility to advance and enrich motherland's excellent traditional music,to foster the spreading and passing of it. The government should enforce directing and administrating,and,at the mean time,offer more favorable policies and necessary financial supports to radio and TV media to help spread Chinese traditional music.meanwhile,we should pay close attention to the qualification ecaluation and professional training of staffs in the field,with a focue on the improvenment of the accomplishment of Chinese traditional music,and further raise the proportion and quality of Chinese traditional music programs in mass media. We should understand correctly the existing values and significance of traditional Chinese music,view the current survival crisis of it dialectically,reinforce the direction and control of music industry,pay more attention to the protection and training of taients of traditional Chinese music,and promoteactively the invention and development of it while inheriting it.
