As a cenozoic era film director, Jia zhangke's works has more and more influence and his position is increasingly important in the cenozoic era film directors. Across his dazzling aura, it's the researchers' task to make in-depth and rigorous studies for director himself and his works. In the context of globalization, postmodern and multicultural at present, it will have the extremely vital significance to take in-depth analysis of aesthetic and cultural for Jia zhangke's film works. His film works has unique aesthetic characteristics and profound cultural connotation. These aesthetic features performance in the aspects of life-flow, fragmentation and people's aesthetic, etc. For the aspect of cultural connotation, the angles such as bottom -writing and folk standpoint,youth image and specimen-consciousness,urban image and drift-complex,entanglements of modern discourse and post-modern discourse will be discussed. The research about life-experiences,cultural background,personality tendency and artistic pursuit of Jia Zhangke is favorable for grasping the aesthetic features and culture significance of his movies on the whole. The comparison between Jia Zhangke and other cenozoic era directors can further understand him and his works.The author-film is to say that it has thick ideological tendency of author -theory .The directors often writes script by themselves , their works tend to have strong personalized color and pursue the unique theme and autonomy about writing style. Jia Zhangke's film has a strong tendency of the author -theory. His film image style in general has a kind of gray exotic and depressed emotional color with an optional,lax and alienation.
