On The Art Education Of Tou-Se-We Studio

Tou-Se-We Studio was a school of art and painting workshop, which was founded under the direct influence of the western churches and to meet their needs as well. It was the transplant of western culture in China, and a successful example of Western painting penetrating China;it was also considered the forerunner of art education in modern China. As an unprecedented large-scale teaching organization of western painting, Tou-Se-We Studio,in the process of teaching, defined its teaching objects, aims, contents and methods step by step, and formed the unique tentative workshop-like teaching pattern and operating system. Tou-Se-We Studio turned out many excellent painters and art educators, which, in a larger sense, initiated and promoted Chinese modern art education and played an important role in Chinese modern art history and Chinese modern history of civilization as well.
