This paper is aiming at Yang's Flower Drum Opera and in the perspective of inlet space theory,destructuring the living space of civil Flower Opera in urban area.Via the analysis and extraction of existing space,the paper discussed the expansion and extension of living space of Flower Drum Opera in urban area and subsistence,development and preserving problems.Under the macro backgroud of social transformation,this paper shed light on the development of Flower Opera from its birth till now and explained the process with space theory.The whole process is mainly divided into three phases,before the founding of PRC,from the founding of PRC untill the opening and reformation and after the opening and reformation.Both factors of national policy and market determine the living form of oprea's subsistence,excerting greatly influence on its living space.Throught the case study of Yang's opera from Yiyang, this paper explicitly analyed the transformation,enterring ,operating ,withdrawing and other practice of space subsistence, discussing Yang's opera's urban area inlet process and strategy.It is concluded that the members of opera set up opera band and break into urban space by making use of individual capital and former social relationship net.Facing up to the exclusion of institution and social net,opera's members enhance interior cohesion in the forms of active improving their performance,stipulating band regulations , payment and equilizing incomes,at the same time they achieve market and extend their social relationship net throught the beneficial communication with spectators.exterior and interior endevor ensure their living space in urban area.Those without ability to survive have to withdraw to rural space or enter with other bands.This paper introduce self-indentification theory and inlet space theory to analyse the living practice in urban space.Via the analysis of three factors of social transformation, outer authority system and daily life ,the paper discuss opera band menbers's the self-indentiflcation logic.For them, although they can settle in urban space,Changsha is merely their space for living.They never really be melted into urban space.Pluralization of pastime brought by social transformation is making the living space of opera band in urban area withered.The factor of institution excluded the opera band out of cities,surely resulting in surviving crisis of opera band in cities and the destiny of the art of Flower Drum Opera in civil society.However,some remaining market and opera band's endevor make its survival in urban space while a seris of policy adopted by central and local government may bring hope to its living in cities as the golden opportunity for its active development in urban space.
