The Chinese character is a symbol system of recording the Chinese. Teaching and studying the Chinese character is a fundamental part of teaching and studying the Chinese. Web-assisted program advances in some special areas in teaching and studying compared to traditional ways. Comparing with traditional ways of the Chinese character learning, the web-assisted learning is much better. Until now, there is no systematic research in web-assisted the Chinese character learning. This thesis refered to theories related to "Chinese philology" and CFL, built a corpus, then made a math-physics statistics and quantitative & qualitative analysis on 1604 Chinese characters of first and second-grade in the (it will be called for short in the following). Compared with high-frequency characters in the corpus, I pointed out that the vocabulary in the had some shortage to be used nowadays, and gave some suggestions to adjust it. According to features and properties of Chinese characters and experience of teaching and learning CFL, I classified and linked all the first-grade characters, and designed a program on optimizing web-assisted the Chinese characters learning. At last, I researched how to optimize web-assisted the Chinese characters teaching and learning as a foreign language macroscopically, and provided a new method on building a website. Main content is focusing on how to teach and learn Chinese characters or Chinese as a foreign language through the internet, and how to solve problems of Chinese characters teaching.The thesis includes six chapters:Chapter One is a preface introducing the ineffective in the Chinese character learning nowadays, I suggest that the web-assisted the Chinese character learning could solve this problem properly and will be an important orientation of CFL teaching and learning. Chapter Two: I put first and second-grade characters in the into , got a series of tables from the statistic as a result.Chapter Three: I analysised the statistical result and pointed out the first-grade characters in the could not meet the requairment in modern China of Chinese learners. I suggested that the could not keep the content all the time but need some changes in order to keep the pace of time.Chapter Four: Mainly researched how to classify and link the first-grade characters according to features and properties of Chinese characters. The structure of classification and link is a fundermental basis of optimizing teaching and learnig. By this structure we can design website.Chapter Five: I researched how to optimize web-assisted the Chinese characters teaching and learning as a foreign language macroscopically. By the internet, I transfer achievement in the front of thesis into an applied program which could be used practically.Chapter Six: I would like to point out the future of web-assisted the Chinese character learning and the shortage of this thesis in conclusion, at last.
