Cao shenji is a famous poet of the early days of Qing Dynasty(1644-1910) .As a famous poet, he and his brother Cao zhenji are honored An Qiu Two-Cao .He was actively in the period of emperor Shunzhi and Kangxi and leaves us more than 1400 poems and Nan Xing Ri Ji,Dan Yu Bi Ji,Gui Zhou Tong Zhi and so on. In these days. Cao zhenji has been studied by so many scholars especially his Ci. However, very few people are interested in studying his brother Cao Shenji. So it is necessary to have studies deeply about not only in his life-time but also in his poems creative work and artistic achievement. It's of practical value to meticulously study and objectively assess Cao Shenji's influence and position in literature history of Qing Dynasty. It also helps us to build up the culture of Shandong province.This essay highlights Cao Zhenji's life-time, poems creative work and artistic achievement, and try to talk over about his influence and position in literature history of Qing Dynasty. I study the background, make poetry text analysis seriously, and pay attention to put the poet into his epoch constantly. Apply the method of history and comparison, make every effort to combine the outside research and the textual research. Then I try to give his creations a objective evaluation. The full text can be divided into three parts:Chapter I: A Account of the Author's Life and Circle of Friends. According to the principle of studying both the author's works and the period in which he or she lives, this chapter discusses mainly about his life-time and the case of he makes friends. This chapter is composed of three parts. Part I, The Early Youths Studying, introduces the poetic tradition of his family, how he studied in his early youth, and communicated with his brother. Part II, Be An Official In the Capital, depicts his life-time in the capital and his five good friends who were to be Jinshi at one year time with him. Part III, Sacrifice Himself in Qian, introduce when he took up the post of Guizhou Xunfu two years after, he suffered disaster and was murdered by enemies in Yunnan. In this part, I also introduce his good friend Li Liangnian in Guizhou.Chapter II, the Theory of Poem Creation, focuses on his poems and artistic features. This chapter consists of three parts. Part I, The Outline of Cao Shenji's Poems, introduces his poems one by one. Part II, Short introductions of Cao Shenji's Poem Creation, Cao Shenji's poems embody a lot of themes, In this part, I make a broad classification among the number of poems about Ying Zhi(write poetry or essays upon the emperor's order), Ji Xing(write poetry or essays in the journey) and Shu Huai(write poetry or essays to impress one's feelings when he was free). Among them, the poems about Ji Xing and Shu Huai are best, not only in numbers but also in qualities. In every classification, I analyze his creation which is typical to show everyone his poem's appearance. Part III, The artistic style of Cao Shenji's Poems, In this part, I comment on his poem's by two periods, and introduce the poems when he was in the enemy's camp. The more important is to show the difference artistic style of the three periods of Cao Shenji.Chapter III, Cao Shenji's Position in Literature of Qing Dynasty. This chapter mainly place himself in the poetic circle of Qing Dynasty. Part I, The Introduction of the Poetic Circle of Qing Dynasty, describes the poetic circle of Qing Dynasty. Part II, Cao Shenji and Jinan Poetry Group, by way of Jinnan Poetry Group's artistic style and the creation of Liu Zhengzong who was the outstanding person of the poetry group. In addition, it also contains the same conception between Cao Shenji and Jinan Poetry Group, so his creations are continuity of Jinan Poetry Group in varying degrees. Part III, Cao Shenji and the Poetry's Trends of Song During the Reign of Emperor Kangxi, first, I introduce the population of the book named Song Shi Chao, then I talk about the situations of the trends at poetic circles during the reign of Emperor Kangxi. In the end of this part, I make a conclusion by analyze the creations of Cao Shenji and Li Liangnian that they were all at the front of the trend.
