Shamanism Symbols In Northern China

Shamanism is a cosmopolitan original religion. It had a profound impact on human culture. Because of the unique way of cultural memory, Shaman culture is today the world's most valuable living of the original culture. It is an important object of study in the culture, ethnology, anthropology, psychology. Shaman culture shapes the national psychology, social systems, and religious practices of the nation in northern China. It has enriched the gene pool of human culture.Shamanism symbols are material symbols of the shaman culture. Each symbol contains all the rich cultural connotations, reflects the magical world outlooks and spirit outlooks, and expresses primitive people's better wish. Shaman symbol system is component of shamanism writing, shaman's costumes, deity idol, shaman's chart, shaman's weapons, etc. Through shaman symbols, we can study the prehistoric northern cultural of symbols.Shaman symbols also have the unique aesthetic content; it is consistent with the principle of formal beauty of modern graphics. Shaman symbols'aesthetic content strengthens semantic connotations, so that the semantic of shaman symbols should be become richer, and communication should be easier.In this paper, the author adopts the basic point of semeiology, and researches shaman symbols which the author collected from on-the-spot investigation. The thesis analyzes shamanism ideas and social environment of shamanism; in-depth analysis the semantic connotations and aesthetic content of symbols shaman; finally, explores the value of shaman symbols in the modern design.
