Culture Research On Bronze Drum Tales Of Zhuang Nationnality

The bronze drum is not only the symbol of Zhuang nationanility culture but also the glorious pearl in Chinese culture legacy. With over 2000 years history, even today, the culture of bronze drum is still"actively"circulated within zhuang nationanlity area in red river valley. The tale is a very important aspect of bronze drum culture. This paper is to trace back the historical records of bronze drum tale from southwest area, to classify the verbal record and historical documents about the bronze drum tales of zhuang nationality and other minorities in southwest region in accordance with their subjects and types, and to set up the data system for the research on the bronze drum tale of zhuang nationality. Based on these, the paper is also trying to discuss the cultural and social value of from the view of multiple sciences with the methodology of folklores.As mentioned in the historical documents, there are three major sources of folklore of the bronze drum: Fubo made drum,Zhuge made drum,Menggong made drum. All of the three stories reflect the peoples'memory and respect to these three historical figures in southwest region. The magic and mystical tale of bronze drum also conveys peoples'worship to the bronze drum in southwest region. The modern verbal record of zhuang bronze drum contains brilliant folklore culture, conveys ancient belief, customs and religion ceremony.The bronze drum of zhuang nationality has been listed as Intangible Cultural Heritage at state level. As an important aspect of the bronze drum, the research will obliviously play an important role in transmission and protection of bronze drum culture of zhuang nationality.
