The research is based on the control theory to research the adaptability of fresh graduate students mainly by the concepts of the sense of control and control strategies. The research studies the relation of fresh graduate students'sense of control and their adaptability and the influencing factors on fresh graduate students'adaptability by questionnaires research, and the research studies the typical situations faced by fresh graduate students and their control strategies in the typical situations by interview research. The research is significant for the control theory and the psychological counseling work on fresh graduate students.Results:(1) It is found that there is a strong remarkable positive correlation between the fresh graduate students'sense of control and their adaptability. Among the seven factors of the whole adaptability, the study adaptability and the interpersonal adaptability have higher correlation coefficients with the sense of control.(2) It is found that the factors of gender, sorts of major (arts/science), study a new major or not, study in a new university or not, this year's graduates or not, only children or not and students'origin place (countryside/city) have different influence on fresh graduate students'adaptability and the factor the sorts of major influences the graduate students'adaptability the most.(3) It is found that the fresh graduate students'score on occupation preparation adaptability has remarkable difference with the fresh college students'score, but the two kinds of fresh students do not have remarkable difference on the scores of the whole adaptability and the sense of control.(4) The central typical difficult situations faced by fresh graduate students focus on study situations, interpersonal situations and life situations. According to the score of the sense of control, separate them into two groups as high score group and low score group. The control strategies of the two group students are as follows: under the study situations, the high score group students are inclined to use predictive primary control, vicarious primary control and vicarious secondary control, but the low score students are inclined to use interpretative primary control, interpretative secondary control and avoidance; under the interpersonal situations, the high score group students are inclined to use interpretative primary control, predictive primary control, predictive secondary control and vicarious primary control, but the low score students are inclined to use interpretative secondary control, illusory secondary control and avoidance; under the life situations, the high score group students are inclined to use interpretative primary control, vicarious primary control, predictive primary control and predictive secondary control, but the low score students are inclined to use interpretative secondary control.
