We study verbs bounding with object and we hope that clearly define the scopeof such verbs and then determine the connotation and extension of the verbs throughthe disccusion. We try from the correspondence between syntactic and semanticreveals the nature of such verbs,in order to benefit the computer language and thesecond language teaching.The first chapter is the introduction part, which introduces Dissertationssignificance, the summery of former research,and the main content and the researchmethod, theoretical basis, the source corpus and so on.The second chapter is the definition of these verbs. Firstly, we disccuse thedefinition of the sticky verbs, and then we find verbs bounding with object is thetypical sticky verbs referencing the Prototype Theory; Secondly, we do the furtherdiscussion of the definition of verbs bounding with object.The third chapter is to determine the scope of verbs. We will study the scope of threekind of these verbs, one of which is both adjectives and verbs, one is thecompounding of single language unit and preposition, and the last one is using in theclassical Chinese. And after that, we will determine the scope of verbs accordingsome syntax standard and "the Modern Chinese Dictionary" (5th Edition) or someother refrence.The fourth chapter is to introduce the nature of the verbs. Focusing on thefundamental property of the verbs——the timing, we hope to study the verbalproperty and the property of action. In the end we will find these verbs are absoluteverbs and have weak action.The fifth chapter is to find the reason of this linguistic phenomenon. And we couldfind various reasons. Basing on traditional and modern transitivity theory, we couldfind one main reason is the low transitivity. In addition, it's also affected by syllableand language style.
