The thesis is intended to explore the characteristics of landscape and Chan panting. Logical foundation of this research is life experience of Dan Dang and the general developing situation of Chan.The conclusion of this research includes the following:First, from the aspect of aesthetic charm, it can reflect the suffering by grievous beauty.Second, from the aspect of stylistic mode, it can reflect the refreshed style.Third, from the aspect of sculpting forms, it puts emphasis on the expression of subjective interest and charm instead of objective truth.Fourth, the drawing of these painting is very concise, vigorous and unconstrained.Fifth, the outline of these painting mainly focuses on the feeling of smoothness and famess. Ill bamboos, withered pines, ugly stone and old people are used to express the author's pain, sorrow and sense of strong. Remote mountains, furudera, and seclusion are used to express the author's life.Sixth, from the aspect of artistic conception, it expresses the feeling of openness, deserted, fragmented loneliness and vicissitudes of life.Besides the characteristics of Dan Dang's landscape paniting, the author also attempts to find out the sources and aesthetic psychology of the characteristics, as well as to prove the relationships between the characteristics and Chan.
