Research On The Artistic Characteristics Of Chen Zizhuang's Flower And Bird Painting

Chen Zizhuang(1913-1976),a native of Rong County,Sichuan Province(now Yongchuan District,Chongqing Municipality).He was a folk painter in his early days while turning into the study and research of literati painting under the influence of Huang Binhong and Qi Baishi in his later years.There are two period of his flowerand-bird painting art,in the early years,he liked to use "Nanyuan"(yuan)as his signature,the painting style is direct,fresh and bright and barock.But his style changed to plain,natural and subtle since he was 50 years old,and he called himself "shihu".This paper takes Chen Zizhuang's flower and bird painting as the research object,to investigate the artistic characteristics of Chen Zizhuang's flower and bird painting by analyzing the representative form and aesthetic implication of his flower-and-bird painting.It analyzes the formal features of Chen Zizhuang's flower-and-bird painting from four aspects:writings,modeling,composition and color.On the writings,Chen Zizhuang took the wet pen to pick up the cockroach,skillfully used the point,loosened it with the pen,and used it to enter the painting.On the ink method,he mainly used the method of breaking the ink and splashing the ink.In terms of styling,the combination of traditional literati painting and folk art styling,and the fusion of sketching,the "biochemistry" of the natural object image,through the exaggeration,deformation,anthropomorphic treatment,take its image,the style is simple and unique;On the other hand,Chen Zizhuang summed up the methods of “horizontal,”“straight”(vertical)and “oblique”,which constitutes a very clear consciousness;in color,he draws on the color characteristics of folk art and draws folk art and traditional literati paintings.Chen Zizhuang's flower-and-bird paintings present the aesthetic meaning of“simpness” and “wild interest”.Through the expression of “simple and complicated”,he expressed the richness of “Italian” in Jane,his choice of life and the characteristics of his own civilians,which made his art of flower-and-bird painting appear plain and simple;Chen Zizhuang flower-and-bird painting With the original "wild beauty." With the theme of natural objects in Bashan,he emphasizes the "randomness" and "machine-likeness" of artistic language.He advocates painting with arrogance,can not be feminine,combines folk art with traditional literati painting,and obtains sketches.The “wild beauty” is integrated into it,and the unique “Zhuangzhuang” style is achieved.Through the analysis of the formal characteristics and aesthetic implication of Chen Zizhuang's flower-and-bird painting,this paper explores the artistic characteristics of Chen Zizhuang's flower-and-bird painting.The study of the artistic characteristics of Chen Zizhuang's flower-and-bird paintings has enlightening significance for the development of contemporary Chinese painting.He develops the critical inheritance of traditional flower-and-bird paintings with his developmental vision,making his art of flower-and-bird painting unique in the forest of modern art.
