At present, with the improvement of living standards, more and more parents choose to let their children to learn piano for building their character and developing their cultural quality. The basic piano teaching for children has been developing very fast with this increase of enthusiasm for learning piano, it will undoubtedly enhance the overall development of cultural quality in China. However, there are still problems need to be resolved in current children piano education, thus piano teachers need to continuously improve and innovate on specific issues in order to achieve the goal of children piano teaching. In this paper, issues in teaching content and methodology will be summarized through the analysis of current children piano education, make suggestions on these issues and indicate attention need to be paid in practice in order to make these suggestions more scientific and applicable. The author hopes that, through this research of methodology of piano teaching, mistakes in current children piano education can be avoided and have benefit on further development of children piano education.
