The Research Of The Limit Scope Adverb

This paper takes the limit scope adverb in modern Chinese as the object of study. We analyzes comprehensively four questions about the limit scope adverb,which are there syntax semantics,there being used together,there internal diversity and there grammaticalization process.Because the length limits,we can't study all limit scope adverbs.So we take the acceptance height as our standard,we choose 9 representative words,which are "单","光","仅","只","单单","独独","仅仅","偏偏","唯独"("惟独"is a variant form of"唯独").Except the foreword and the conclusion,the paper altogether divides into four chapters.The concrete arrangement is as follows:First,we analyze the modifying object,the semantic characteristic and the semantic direction of the limit scope adverb.We discover besides general characters of the scope adverb,the limit scope adverb has many own characteristics in these three aspects.Because this 9 words have the representation very much,so these characteristics are general characteristics of all limit scope adverb.Then we discuss the question of the limit scope adverb being uesed together. Although many scholar have focused on the question of the adverb being uesed together and got many research results,the study of the limit scope adverb being uesed together are very few.Beginning from here,the paper summarizes many value roles and conclusions.The general character has the individuality,the individuality exists in the general character.Although we have already analyzed general syntax and semantic characteristics,there are many differences among individuals,which enable these words to replace each other mutually in some liguistic environments.As common monosyllabic limit scope adverb"单" and "光",there are some slight differences in the syntax distribution,the semantic function and the pragmatic characteristic.We conduct research on these differences.Moreover,disyllabic limit scope adverbs "单单","独独" and"仅仅" have many differences in the same syntax distribution.The paper induced these differences.Language phenomenon is accumulation of long-term development of language.The modifying object,the semantic characteristic,there being uesed together and grammaticalization of there are all based on contemporary language materials,which belong to synchronic phenomenon.Finally from dichronic angle the paper analyzes the origin and the evolution of these limit scope adverbs.While clearing off their development vein,we explain and verify some synchronic phenomenons as well.Generally speaking,this paper not only absorbed the results of prrevious studies, but also on the basis of predecessors re-analysed some old problems in the new perspective.Simultaneously we discussed some questions which little discussed in predecessors and summarized some conclusions.For example on limit scope adverbs being used together and grammaticalization of their.
