This paper mainly talks about the limit scope adverb,discussing its setting in teaching Chinese as a second language textbooks as well as syllabus.It also goes into the acquisition of limit scope adverb of second language learners of Chinese and the misuse cases that appear,sorting out the cases and analyzing the causes of these errors.Then the targeted suggestions on the revision of textbooks and teaching methods will be given.First of all,this essay gives a definition based on previous studies of limit scope adverb,which is on the basis of the equivalence between the defined object and a certain set and with strong exclusiveness in the limited scope.Then by examining the content of limit scope adverb in Developing Chinese(the Second Edition),which is a series of 12 textbooks of comprehensive,reading and writing and reading,and comparing with the HSK5000 vocabulary syllabus and the grammar one,it is found that there are also many problems about limit scope adverb in the textbooks,such as uneven distribution,misplaced settings,missing comments and explanations.Afterwards,an exhaustive investigation of limit scope adverb was conducted on the three corpora,which are HSK Dynamic Composition Corpus Version 2.0,Global Chinese Interlanguage Corpus,and Jinan University Interlanguage Corpus,plus the cases collected by the author while teaching.There are 224 error cases were found,and these error cases were classified and summarized into four:mistaken addition,omission,mistaken using,and being out of sequence.And it is exactly because of the ignorance of textbooks compilation,lack of attention while teaching and improper acquisition strategies.Finally,based on the causes of the error and textbooks compilation,the advice of revision,in the order of arrangement and annotations,about the limit scope adverb in Developing Chinese will be given.As a Chinese language teacher,we can also use the methods called situational teaching,linkage analysis,and sentence transformation to explain the adverbs in class.In a word,this paper has discussed the limit scope adverb based on the results of previous researches,and also solve some problems,such as the concept of limit scope adverb.It also gives a clear explanation about the development of limit scope adverb from the perspective of teaching Chinese as a foreign language.Hope this paper will make the study of limit scope adverb in teaching Chinese as a foreign language better.
