Neoplatonism was one of the important thoughts of the Renaissance. Like any of the Neoplatonists, Michelangelo believed that the world of ideas is the real exist. To him, art and poetry must show and extol the perfect of sprint. In the art creation, he wanted out of the shackles of the flesh and found the highest level, and also hoped to embody the perfection and harmony of sprint in the sensible world. Michelangelo's Neoplatonic literary and artistic creation has had a far-reaching effect.There are three chapters in this thesis. In the first chapter, I elaborate the background of Michelangelo's Neoplatonic literary and artistic creation, including two sections as Michelangelo's experience and the main thoughts of Neoplatonism. In the second chapter, I elaborate the Neoplatonism in Michelangelo's paintings and sculptures, and analyze his artistic creation that he both wanted to describe the sensible beauty and bound out of the material to pursue the soul transcendence. Then, in the follow chapter, I analyze the contents and feelings in Michelangelo's poems, elaborate the Neoplatonism reflected in these poems in detail. In the epilogue, I take a summary analysis about the influence of Michelangelo's Neoplatonic literary and artistic creation on Mannerism and Rodin, the sculptor of the 19th century.
