The restoration of cultural relics is a key link in the protection and research of cultural relics, which is of great significance. This translation project is based on the book Michelangelo and I written by Gianluigi Colalucci,an Italian restoration expert. And this book tells the story of the 14-year restoration project of Sistine Chapel fresco the writer participated in.On the basis of clarifying the language style and expressing intentions of the original text, the author adopts translation techniques such as adjustment in word order, shift between passive/active voices, dissection of long sentences, and so on,in an effort to make the target text as close as possible to the original text in terms of content and communicative function. This report covers program analysis, preparation and translating, case study and conclusion. As the core of this report, the translation case study introduces the problems and solutions that the author has encountered while implementing this translation project, focusing in particular on the following three aspects:understanding, expression and proofreading. The author also carries out in-depth reflection and discussion on the issues that arise in the translation process in order to provide guidance for the author's future translation work and related translation projects, and to provide references for text translation on the similar subject.
