A Study Of "Vxiang+NP" And Some Related Problems

There are a lot of formats likes"Vxiang+NP"in our Chinese language.In 1963,Lvshuxiang has mentioned that,"gei,zai,xiang"all have a trend that they get used to attachment to monosyllabic verbs.Beginning with this point,we investigate"Vxiang+NP",and trying to describe the syntax and semantic features,at last,we may summary this trend.At the same time,we shall also investigate the preposition"xiang",try to learn something about it,for example,just as its development in diachronic plane and description in synchronic plane.At one time,we will analyse the problem about this construction's division,the syntax position of"Vxiang",and the transformation of"Vxiang+NP"and"xiang+NP+V".This thesis is comprised of five chapters.Chapter One mainly introduces the research background and target.Chapter Two concerns the division of"V+P+NP",based at some professors'thesis.We may try to conclude some regular patterns in this chapter.At the last part of this chapter,we focus focal point on"Vxiang",concerned with its predicate with object.Chapter three mainly has synchronic description of"Vxiang+NP".We respectively describe the verbs and the objects"NP",investigating their semantic feature.Finally,we can find how many verbs can be used in this format,and the format has some significances.Chapter four beginning with the Grammaticalization of Verbs.We know prepositions are usually come from verbs,so in chapter four we should spend time on the diachronic study.We should know the steps of the Grammaticalization of Verbs.We also may concern the reflection of cognitive about preposition"xiang"in the chapter.Chapter five may shows the constituent order related to prepositions.First, we investigate the"xiang+NP"format's relationship with verbs in diachronic plane,and try to find some constituent orders.Second,we do description in synchronic plane,the format will appear before the verb or after the verb.We also want to explain the transformation between"Vxiang+NP"and"xiang+NP+V".
