Comparative Studys About "Ji'er" And "Yi'er" On Both Synchronic And Diachronic Levels

The monosyllabic nature of vocabulary is a very important feature of ancient Chinese.However ,the majority of modern Chinese scholars very early.In recent years,with the popularization of grammaticalization and lexicalization theory in China,more and more researchers begin to study the phenomenon of Chinese bocabularies from this perspective,and fruitful results have been made."Ji'er"(??)and"Yi'er"(??)are not words at first,but they became two-syllabled words after a long process of lexicalization.This paper explores the process,condition and driving factors of the lexicalization from the diachronic perspective of the parallelity of the lexicalization of the two words and their non-parallelity in the modern Chinese and tries to figure out the paths of semantic changes by comparing the meanings and the use of the two words.And the paper will analyze the use of both and the existing conditions in modern Chiness through the description on the sunchronic level.This paper consists of six chapters:Chapter One introduces the current domestic research situation of related problems,including the review of time adverbs,the researcha of lexicalization,and the existing research on "Ji'er"(??)and"Yi'er"(??).And an explaintion of related items like the purpose,content,methods of research and corpus sources.In Chapter Two,from the perspective of diachronic development,we studied the process of "Ji'er"(??)and"Yi'er"(??)developing from non-grammatical structure into two-syllabled words,and explore the process and the driving factors.Chapter Three will be based on the interpretation of these two words in the "the Great Chinese Dictionary",and probes the development and evolution of these two words after their formation,and explores the emergence,development,extension,disappearance and replacement semantically.In Chapter Four,"Ji'er"(??)and"Yi'er"(??)will be anlaysized from three linguistic aspects-grammar,semantics and pragmatics-and we are trying to give a whole version of existing sitution of these two words in modren Chinese as much as we can.Chapter Five generates a comparasion of the use,characteristic,and semantical development of these two words and explores the further grammaticalization they peforme in modern Chinese,and probes the driving factors.And we are trying to explain the status and living situation by comparing them with words that are similar to"Ji'er" (??)and"Yi'er"(??)sematically.The conlusion is that,"Yi'er"(??) had more various circumstances of lexicalization than "Ji'er"(??),and generated more meanigs.Meanwhile,"Ji'er"(??)performed more stably related to meaning,and the usage has changed a lot.And "Ji'er"(??) reflects more actively in modern Chinese.
