This subject is aimed at the study of the emotion-related content in terms of new media design. After Beijing Olympics in 2009, people have a deep understanding of the concept of new media. It is really significant to conduct an in-depth study of the new media design regarding the dominant development tendency of the new media. Emotional design is the rootstock theory in the area of arts design. In the final analysis, the arts design serve people. The triggering, identification and sublimation of emotion can be attained by the use of emotional design, thereby people can enjoy the spiritual satisfaction. This paper gives a in-depth research of the emotional design content in terms of new media design and brings up the principles for emotional design regarding new media. The writer also gives an analysis and an explanation of these theories in her works and makes her own contributions to the further development of new media design.Starting with the subject of the concept and characteristics of new media, the writer tries to find emotional characteristics and expounds the constituent elements, feature analysis and standardized representation with regard to emotional design through the subject. After the analysis of emotional theory and new media characteristics, the subject further gives an analysis of the representation of the emotional contents of the new media works and analyzes what emotional contents are included in new media and what contents embody the emotion to find the conjoint point of emotion and new media design. On the basis of summary, the writer highlights the principles of emotional design in the area of new media design, the ideas and methods for guiding the new media design theoretically, say the principles of humanism, playfulness and so on and tries to give a scientific analysis of the emotional response that these principles have created. Finally, the writer touches upon the design principles in her works and drew a conclusion.On the other hand, the writer follows the scientific principles in conducting emotional research. Through the extensive market survey and questionnaire, the writer provides evidence for verification for the emotional design principles.Through the analysis of emotional characteristics and emotional design theory for new media, the writer starts expounding several typical forms of new media at first and give a detailed analysis of how new media design is favorable to the representation of creators' sentiment, arousing of the participants'aesthetical emotions, triggering of the participants' deep feelings and acquiring of the design principles. The writer also makes a further study of how every principle gives rise to the change of emotions and what emotional experience this change can bring about. On the basis of the analysis of typical cases of new media, the writer gives a concrete and tabular representation of emotional experience and provides consult and reference for the research of the design of new media arts theory.
