In recent years, the proportion of serious incidents caused by psychological problem of the college students increases gradually, so the mental health of college students is concerned by various sections of community and has gradually become the focus of social concern. SWB (Subjective well-being) is an important psychological indicator of individual mental health. SWB is a research area of positive phycology and a new perspective in phycological research in recent years. This study is based on the theory of SWB and combined past research. It focuses on selected self conception and college adaption which are two factors affect SWB. 400 college students in Shanghai were randomly selected as the object of this study. General Well-Being Schedule (GWB), Tennessee Self Concept Scale (TSCS) and Chinese Colleage Student Adaption Inventory (CCSAI) are used to test the object. 340 valid questionnaires are finally obtained. SPSS13.0 is used for data analysis. Seven demographic variables, such as sex, whether single child, professional, the source, whether as social work, grades and the average monthly consumption, are selected to describe the characteristics of SWB, self conception and college adaption. The relationships between these three factors are explored. In addition, this study recruits subjects through selecting volunteer college students in front of surveying and posting advertisements, and selects the subjects who got low score of GWB to intervene. Group interventions are further carried out to improve college students'SWB.The results show that:(1) The SWB of college students in Shanghai scored in the middle level, and it has remarkable difference in the variables of sex, the source, grades. Howerer it doesn't have remarkable difference in the variables of whether single child, professional, whether as social work, the average monthly consumption.(2) The self conception of college students in Shanghai has remarkable difference in the variables of sex, professional, the source, grades, but it doesn't have remarkable difference in the variables of whether single child, whether as social work, the average monthly consumption.(3) The college adaption of college students in Shanghai has remarkable difference in the variables of sex, the source, grades, but it doesn't have remarkable difference in the variables of whether single child, professional, whether as social work, the average monthly consumption.(4) There have highly positive correlations between SWB with its various factors and self conception with its various factors (except the factor of self criticism). With negative correlation in the factor of self criticism, but doesn't have remarkable difference. It's also highly positive correlation between SWB with its various factors and college adaption with its various factors. The results of further regression analysis show that the factors of self conception and college adaption can well predict the factors of SWB.(5) Group intervention can effectively improve the SWB of college students. This paper not only enriched the theory of positive psychology content in developing stage, but also provided some new methods and suggestions which can improve the life quality of college students and their levels of SWB.
