HuShi was one of greatest writers in modern literary history and the New Cultural Movement in China. HuShi's study at home and abroad has become "significant learning." However, the field of ideas of HuShi Enlightenment literary studies in China is still a significant weakness. With HuShi deep understanding of China's tradition and Western culture, combined with his Enlightenment based on China's specific national conditions, which enabled him to put forward the sound of individualism as a core content of literary enlightenment, reflects HuShi unique and profound. This paper attempts to restore the historical and cultural context at the time, cleaning HuShi's literature Enlightenment era in particular from the bud to the mature development process, finding and exploring ways and means of Enlightening Chinese people. And under the influence of this thinking, HuShi advocate of literary forms of popular and easy to understand direction for life, and thus contributed to a complete transformation from ancient literature to modern literature. This article discusses the HuShi's history contribution of literary Enlightenment and practical significance, but also thought about the limitations and shortcomings of HuShi's literary Enlightenment. I believe that the subject is very important for understanding the modernity of Chinese Literature.
