The Study Of HuShi' Individualism

One of the subject in the New Cultural Movement is mold the modern, HuShi think that the feature of modern is "individualism" ,we can reveal the meaning of HuShi'Individualism through HuShi'works and thesis . his'individualism mainly include four angles.Firstly, the root of China fall behind the west is the low quality , the servile can't meet the need of modern society ,so we need to abandon this servile ,the fundamental solution is mold the individual man ,who have great independence in thought and a critical eye.Secondly, verification the necessity of the self-development through the connection of the personality and the society .the society suppress people , we should develop ourself, so we can fight against the society; the society is make by people ,so self— development is helpful to society, the fundamental way to self-development is education.Thirdly, there are different on moral and values in the cultural of Chinese and the Western, the Western affirm the desire of people, but the Chinese lack of desire. So HuShi call for independent of moral andutilitarianism. He affirm the desire, call for evaluate all the value, Break down superstitions and emancipate the mind.Finally, through analysis the connection of the individual and thesociety, reveal that the Hushi' individualism is not all the same with the western individualism , he think that we should understand person form society. Through analysis the view of history ,reveal that HuShiaffirmed man's Positive effects in the history.
