An Experimental Study On Implicit Altruistic Behavior Of Normal University Students

With the reform of higher education systems, this special group of normal university students become the social focus, recived more and more attention from psychologist, educationalist, and sociologist. As the future teacher, normal university students'quality has a bearing on the development of nation's human resources strategy, the psychological quality of normal university students has profound influence on the quality of human resources. So it is necessary to study altruistic behavior of normal university students, and it has profound meaning. At the same time as the development of cognitive psychology, making an attempt to understand the altruistic behavior form the angle of cognition provide a new theoretical basis and idea to measure and evaluate altruistic behavior, the study of altruistic behavior extend from the field of explicit altruistic behavior to unconscious field.Theoretical studies and empirical studies on explicit altruistic behavior are very mature in china. Not only the research object is rich, include children, middle school students, university students, and so on, having stdudy on the types, levels, impact factors of altruistic behavior and altruistic personality, but the relationship between altruistic behavior and other behavior. But the study of implicit altruistic behavior is at starting stage. Up till now, few scholars had reseached implicit altruistic behavior,and nobody had reseached on normal university students'implicit altruistic behavior. To fill the gap of studies,I hope to find weather normal university students have significant implicit altruistic behavior, there is gender difference in normal university students' implicit and Explicit altruistic behavior, the relationship between explicit altruistic behavior and implicit altruistic behavior of normal university students.This study first used literature review on altruistic behavior and implicit association test, then using nomination methods to get concep words for experiment. And used software E-prime to design a program to present stimulus materials, presenting procedure followed the procedure of software IAT, that American Psychological Software Inquisite programmed. Implicit association test and mate-rating methods were used to test 68 normal university students from South West Univerdity. The statistical analysis used standardized statistical software SPSS 15.0. The main conclusions are as follows:â… . Normal university students had significant implicit altruistic behavior. It meant that Normal university students'altruistic behavior show up automatic processing feature.â…¡. The IAT effect size between male and female normal university students was not significant.There is gender difference in normal university students'implicit altruistic behavior.â…¢. There is gender difference in normal university students'explicit altruistic behavior.The female normal university students'explicit altruistic behavior score is significant higher than male normal university students'score.â…£. The relationship between explicit altruistic behavior and implicit altruistic behavior of normal university students was not very close.â…¤. Implicit association test can be a measurement for implicit altruistic behavior.
