Objective: To investigate the mental health status of Beihai middle school students and analyze the related factors that influence mental health of middle school students, and to explore the relationship between the mental health status of middle school students and parental rearing behavior, our study tries to provide the basis for psychological consultation and the treatment of the middle school students, and finally helps to raise the the middle school students′mental health level.Method: By means of the stochastic cluster sampling, 2308 students selected from seven middle schools (key,ordinary,vocational middle school) in Behai city were investigated with Symptom Check List 90 (SCL-90),the Egna Minnen Barndoms Uppfostran (EMBU) scale and the General Information questionnaire. Then the rate of psychological problems was caculated. The result was compared with the domestic correlated researches and the sample was classified into groups on the basis of different gender,grade,school,singleton or nonsingleton and so on, and each pair was compared with each other. Furtherly we establish two kinds of model to make multiple regression analysis to research the influencing factors of psychological problem. Result:⑴13.4% of the middle school students in Beihai have psychological problems; the prevalence rate in junior middle school students is 11.8% compared with 15.2% in high school students, and the difference has statistical significance(P﹤0.05); The prevalence rate in graduating class students is higher than the non-graduating class students, and the difference has statistical significance(P﹤0.05); The prevalence rate in the key middle school students is 18.1% much higher than 12.1% in general-studies middle school students(P﹤0.05); although the diffirenences of psychological prevalence rates between the boys and girls,the singleton and non-singleton all have no statistical significance(P﹥0.05), but the total score and many factor-scores of SCL-90 are obviously different in them;⑵The multiple regression analysis demonstrates studying pressure,grade,sex,parents′divorce,parents′raising way are the primary factors that affecting the psychological healthy of middle-school students; correlation analysis showed that the total score and factor-scores of SCL-90 had positive correlation with parental rejection,overprotection,excessive interference,punishment and preference. The total score and factor-scores of SCL-90 were negatively related to parental emotional warmth.Conclusion:⑴The detection rate of psychological problem in Beihai middle school students is 13.4%;⑵T he detection rates of psychological problem of students in different grades and different level schools are different;⑶parents′raising way,Studying pressure,parents′divorce,mother′s cultural level,grade and sex are the primary factors that affecting the psychological healthy of middle school students. The occurrence of psychological problem in middle school students has close relationship with the parents′raising way.
