Born in the early nineties of last century, sixth-generation directors of the Chinese film achieved great success and also improved relations with the market. Among them, Lou Ye,famous for his narrative style, is quite concerned by the film industry and cultural objects. Looking at Lou Ye's works, the sixth generation's pursuit of different narration can be clearly felt. Accompanied by changes in the environment, Lou Ye had completed the study and the imitation on narration in 10 years. It can be divided into three stages. The first stage : undertaken the new era of experimental literature. At this stage, Lou Ye made the very personal style films "Weekend Lover", "Presumed Innocent Girl" and turned to the film narrative itself. After the post-modernism landed on China and brought in the capital logic, a hybrid language environment appeared and made Lou Ye's "Suzhou River" in a novel style of pioneering. It also made the film a post-modern narrative style at the same time. The second stage: explored the non-essential stability of the story. After "Suzhou River", the post-modern damage to the stability of the story caused Lou Ye's attention. In his view, the reality should be using a multi-angle and multi-language to simulate, in order to complete the most authentic reflection. Lou Ye made "Purple Butterfly" a space for the innocent young people who got involved in war to moan freely. Lou Ye changed the stability arrangements and used the occasional factors as clues. Although Lou Ye's film had got out of the previous phase, but the narrative fragments were still a larger obstacle for the audiences to understand. The third stage: using "polyphony space" to copy the vitality of life. Lou Ye saw the film-making as sowing, nurture and harvest processes. Although the previous film can be already seen characteristics of polyphony obviously, "Summer Palace" was a real start which creates a polyphonic space. Polyphony space and hybrid space are similar but still have a few differences.Although Lou Ye still can not hold the balance between the creative exploration and the market, but he is no longer limited by the box office and the system locks. The non-stop exploration offers Lou Ye an unusual way to make films. The unusual way which can not be copied let Chinese domestic film be hopeful, so Lou Ye's films are rare.
