The Study Of Material Culture Symbolic Words

Symbolic meaning of symbolic words is an important component of the modern semantics, whose semantic features is by the characterization of one thing to represent some special significance. Research and development the cultural meaning of Chinese symbol words is an important topic of language and culture. It's favorable to further understanding of Chinese culture, to find out the developmental context of Chinese culture, to study chinese lexicology, to guiding Chinese language teaching,foreign language teaching and minority chinese teaching, to editing dictionary.This Paper mainly has parts of three chapter including the second chapter, the third chapter and fourth chapter.The second chapter is diachronic study of symbolic words of material and culture. First of all, classify symbol words of material and culture for diachronic:divided into five phases according to dynasties, then classify according to the development and changes,obtained range expanded,range reduced similar association against the opposite; secondly, explain language genyoshi for symbol words of material and cultural which can be queried; finally,describes the development characteristics of material and cultural in each dynasties.The third chapter is synchronic study of symbolic words of material and culture. First of all, classify symbol words of material and culture for synchronic:By naming things on the property into building classes, clothes, music classes, transport type, living supplies, weapons classes six etc. By forming symbol meaning of internal factors into homophonic, nature, materials, shape nine etc. Secondly, introducing semantic field theory, systematic analysis symbolic words of material and culture on vocabulary, including generic,synonymous,antisense,word formation seven etc. Finally, systematic analysis symbolic words of material and culture on semantic, enumerates monosemy symbolic words and polysemy symbolic words, then doing case analysis for "closing" and "light" in polysemy symbolic words, respectively find their proportion between symbol meaning and rational meaning, order of priority and proportion relationship in symbol meaning.The forth chapter, summarizes which manifests China traditional culture in symbolic words of material and culture, including injury spring and autumnal melancholy,boating and retirement way to be gentleman,native land and nostalgia,androcentrism cultural psychology,rank difference social reality,associative thinking mode implicitness national character.
