This Thesis is the study of the relationship between water environment and utilization of agricultural water resources. Its main task is to investigate how to handle the relations between people and water resources, how to understand the role that man act in the course of development and utilization of water resources. The study is focus on the two different areas: Taihu and Guanzhong. The focal point of the study are: the relations between man and water which express the effect on each other, the relations between man and man which express the effect on each other in using water resources, the factors that determine the ways of how to use water resources and the efficiency of utilization of water resources.This thesis has five chapters. Its studies the difference between Taihu and Guanzhong and then mainly discusses the the relationship between water environment and utilization of agricultural water resources.1. Development and utilization of water resources can be divided into development and utilization of surface water resources and development and utilization of ground water resources. There was plenty of water in Taihu area, so the agricultural water resources mainly depended on the surface water resources. The staple ways were: irrigation by rivers and canals, low-lying paddy fields surrounded with dykes, sea wall. The water resources were not rich in Guanzhong area, so the agricultural water resources sourced of both the surface water resources and the ground water resources. The chief ways were: irrigation by rivers and canals, well irrigation, spring water irrigation.2. This chapter researches the relations between the natural environment of water and the development of agriculture. The natural environment of water influenced the growing structure of the crops. The staple crop in Taihu area was rice. The staple crop in Guanzhong area was wheat. The different natural environment of water had effect on the farming techniques in different areas. It was very important to the development of agriculture that the level of irrigation and drainage development. On the other hand, the development of agriculture especially the reclaim and cultivate wasteland, the expansion of cultivated area could also lead to the changes of the natural environment of water.
