Orhan Pamuk who was awarded in Nobel Prize for Literature had a complicated life.Getting a western education,he taps Islam culture and admired western way of expression. In his literature work,he not only embodies cross-culture but also represents the conflict and fusion between lslam culture and western culture. This article combines the static and dynamic Cultural Identity,it predominantly focuses on the protagonist.Pamuk described the protagonist from diverse perspectives. It is hidden in the intuitively name of novel. The narrator in stories can be protagonist. The multi-parts narrative also presents many protagonists. These non-typical features need to be focused. In a word, the protagonist in his fiction has three identities-Islamic modernist,Kamalist reformer and self-searching identity, which are closely related to the social reality. As the protagonist was strictly identified, color becomes the important expressing intention. The color theory can be applied.According to the color theory, the name of protagonist not only embodies Islamic traditional culture, but also indicates the struggle and helplessness of Islamic modernist, women and self-searching identity. They have to lowered themselves in political reality and recover their won meanings. Then, they will find their position during the free interaction with the society instead of being lost in nothingness. The dynamic change in identity is the thinking of future identity, which is also important in the fiction. The searching for self of different-identified protagonists represent both traditional Sufism and Postmodernism. It seems like a cultural fusion.During the exploration, all protagonists' experiences apparently explains that single dimensional Sufisim worship, either spiritually or divinely, will fail finally.Imitation and two-way linear regression are the best ways to solve the cultural confrontation.Last but not least,in Pamuk's novel, there are many inter-textual name from different novels.Combining the same name protagonists from different novels, the fourth identity distinguished from the three others can be found, which is the narrator and novelist included in the writer identity. It is influenced by the reality and reflects the re-identity of the second identity or another self in the cultural conflict between the East and the West.
