A Study On The Social Security In The Shaanxi-Gansu-Ningxia Border Region During The Anti-Japanese War

During the Anti-Japanese war, the Shaanxi-Gansu-Ningxia border region is frequently suffered from natural disasters which caused an economic unbalance in this area. The region government implemented some social security works for the basic livings of military people and civilians. These social security works include military supporting, social assistance, and basic medical security system foundation.In this article, we have a vertical view of comparison of policy changes based on a complete introduction on social security system of the border region. Besides the article shows a basic structure of social security system, and reviews its effects. The border region's social security is not implemented by the country government but with great regional characteristics. And its function has changed from servicing for the military uses into the social stability and harmony in its former practice. After years of development, the border region has primarily formed an independent system which laid a solid foundation for the later New China's social security work.
