The Application Research On Traditional Chinese Patterns With Respect To Modern Public Art

Decoration as an art form constitutes an important part of art history, reflecting the human thoughts, feelings, and inner belief in different historical periods; it is a historical record as well as the ideal and the aesthetic orientation of human. The traditional decorative patterns, a scientific whole combined art with life, don't only provide an ideal environment forrehabilitation and mulding sentiments but beneficial to sublimate the value of people's spiritual and life, thus making it the most excellent representations of our traditional culture.This article will re-examine this form of traditional art by placing it in contemporary public art point of view, and discuss its innovation and development. As a result of the different geographical, cultural differences, social development and people's aesthetic orientation of change and awareness of traditional culture different, together with the gap between original theory and social Development, making us in consistent exploration of modern art works from the traditional culture, that is compatible to modern environment art, Nowadays people gradually return to its traditional culture. As creators of public art works, it is necessary to combine the traditional decorative patterns based on modern techniques and methods to decorate the contemporary public space, reflecting geographical characteristics and cultural heritage.This thesis is dedicated to carding the contemporary public art, with the research on evolution and genre probes of traditional decorative patterns as a starting point. Meanwhile it will explore the organic integration of both parties by analyzing the texture, measurement and unique features of traditional patterns introduced, decompose features of decorative patterns at different times to conclude its characteristics, differentiate and analyze the significance of its art image and cultural connotations, thus conducting an application research on traditional decorative patterns with respect to both contemporary public art and modern public art.
