Started in 1994, Lu Xun Literature Award is endowed with modern ideas in a modernized and globalized period. There are four parts in the article. Part one analyses great suffering of body or mind in the novels. The suffering ranges from disability and survival to the loneliness of homeless and anxiety of existence. In addition, this part associates restriction from traditional culture with misery. Taking the novels of Dong Xi, Yan Lianke, Chi Zijian as example, part two studies different styles and stories of those novels. Part three studies different ways the authors use to save the sufferers from their torment. Generally speaking, the sufferers would fight against the miseries or imagine overcoming the miseries.
