Discussing Liu Bannong's New Poetry Theory

The poetry theory of Liu Bannong advocated to express emotion with the natural sound rhythm,"Essence"is the core of his poetics; At the same time, he had a unique exploration of tone poem, syllable and poetic forms, and he practiced his own poetry theory in creativity, forming a unique artistic style,"Yang bianji"and"Wa fuji"were the strongest evidences. He construct a new poetry theoretical system by response to demands of the times and poetry's own law of development, absorption of traditional Chinese poetry, folk songs and art of nutrition of foreign literature ,and with his own aesthetic interesting. In aesthetic contemplation of perspective, his poetry theory ,compared to other contemporary poetics, had both obvious advantages and inevitable loss, but still important to create meaning and aesthetic value. The previous poetry theoretical research of Liu Bannong had made some important results, but also many biased. For example, some commentators felt that Liu Bannong creative folk song was only a kind of"literary game", this is a misunderstanding of psychological folk melodies; Some critics also believed that Liu Bannong draw on folk music for social utilitarian purposes; and in fact he was from the"art appreciation"learn perpective; also commentators felt that Liu Bannong changed the form of poetry just"tinkering", without fundamental foundation of touch old-style poetry, which to some extent underestimated the changes advocated by Liu Bannong intensity of poetic forms. In a sense, these views did not give objective and fair assessment to the poetics of Liu Bannong. Therefore, it is necessary to rethink these issues. The theory poetry of Liu Bannong had some immature in places, but his history status of theory in the history was no doubt, It is necessary to make a realistic evaluation on his theoretical contribution.
