It was more than twenty years to finish the book and now there is still a strong influence . The theme studies chiefly the "Detailed annotation of Du Fu's Poems" from a hermeneutic standpoint, then genelizes the advantages and disadvantages on the notes of the "Detailed annotation of Du Fu's Poems". I do that in order to be beneficial to the notes of ancient poems and ancient documents etc.The preface chiefly introduces the meaning of the theme and research situation home and overseas and author of the "Detailed annotation of Du Fu's Poems" which includes a life of Qiu Zhao'ao,the background and cause about the "Detailed annotation of Du Fu's Poems" and the value of the book in the modern times.The text includes the advantages of the notes of the "Detailed annotation of Du Fu's Poems". This part summarizes the merits that the explanation of the meanings of the words and the general ideas of this article. Firstly, Qiu Zhao'ao tried to explain the source and the meaning of every word in detail. Moreover, he annotated the ancient words, the dialect and slang. He also distinguished the near synonymies. Secondly, in the notation of the Du Fu's poems, Qiu Zhao'ao quoted the contents about the chronometer, geography and folk-custom . Sixthly, Qiu Zhao'ao made some mistakes in the phonetic notations, seventhly, there exist many mistakes when Qiu Zhao'ao quoted others' opinions or other books and documents. At the same time, I collect lots of sufficient and representative materialto demonstrate the opinions of the theme.In conclusion, The Detailed Annotation of Du Fu' Poems is the one of the most far-reaching books which have noted the Du Fu' Poems. The means and achievements of it have determinable and irreplaceable value.
