Emotion as an important part of human psychology can help people understand the object world. It has functions of organization, adaption, signal and motivation. Expression is the external manifestation of emotion, which could convey information for human's communication. The function as a communication tool in social life makes it a great important role. The most familiar emotional signals consist of faces, voices and body expressions.So far research on the expressions focus on the faces, compared with which research on the emotions expressed by body and voices appear to be sparse. During the three kinds of expressions, facial expressions tend to be the one which be most widely used and can deliver most signals. However, the importance on the body and voice expressions should obtain more attention. The authors investigated recognition of four emotions through body, face and voice materials: happy, sad, fear and anger. Interactions of body, voice and body expressions also be investigated through experiment two. Results of this research are as follows:(1) Significant differences exist between recognition of these three emotional expressions ;(2) Different kinds of emotions have different main way of expression types, which also can be found between genders;(3) Recognitions of body expressions are influenced by faces and voices;(4) Recognitions of voice expressions are influenced by body and faces;(5) Recognitions of facial expressions are influenced by body and voices.Taken together, the research provides different characteristics among recognitions of body, face and voices, which illustrate the importance of emotional body and voice expressions in combination with facial signals in realistic circumstances.
