Migrant workers which were the special outcome of social transformation period, have made a great contribution to the economic development and modernization of our country. With the rapid reform and opening up and urbanization process in China, an unprecedented tide of migrant workers emerged. But they have to face all kinds of troubles after entering the city. As the issues of migrant workers have become prominent, the migrant workers dramas come into being.With grasping the pulse of the times, the series creators pay close attention to the living circumstances and intention course of migrant workers.The migrant workers dramas have profound though and high artistry. In this thesis, the author put the migrant workers dramas as the research texts and used a combination of qualitative and quantitative research methods to explore the construction of migrant workers’image by standing on the theoretical perspective of cultural studies.This thesis consists of four parts and adopts progerssive transformation and gradually thorough way to resolve the question of the construction of migrant workers’image.In the introduction, the author sorted out the study of origin, value, core concepts and research ideas. In the first chapter, the author analyzes what kinds of migrant workers’images in the dramas by using the methods of qualitative and quantitative analysis. On the basis,the author summarizes there are three kinds of migrant workers’images. In the second chapter, the author studies how to construct the image of migrant workers from two aspects of the social context and dramas’ contents. In the third chapter, the author delves into the power which hids behind the image construction of migrant workers.The author thinks that the construction of image of migrant workers is influenced by the state ideology, elite discourse and mass culture.
