In the middle age of the twentieth century, influenced by the development of linguistics, science and technology around the globe, by its scientific spirit adapt to the era, structuralism becomes popular quickly in various academic fields. It gains great achievements and affects the biblical study. It provides a new text interpretation method for the biblical study beyond the rage of traditional theology and historical criticism, than leads the Biblicists to explore the new significance. Although the structural biblical study is in full swing abroad, the related research and comment still have some shortages. In our country, owing to the lack of material and literature, the research of this aspect is still blank. This article is to clear up main methods and characteristics of the structural biblical study on the basis of foreign existing study, and discusses its important value to the biblical text, in order to compensate the shortage of the domestic research and provide a new and effective text analysis method for the Biblicists.Paper has there parts: the preface, text and references. The preface summarizes the research situation of structural study of the Bible to establish the significance and research angle of this paper. The main part is divided into four chapters.Chapter I: The introduction of Structuralism theory to the Biblical study. It is divided into two sections. Section I is mainly from the conceptual and methodological features of both defined to understand structuralism. Section II analyzes the background and causes of the structuralism into the Bible, and has a brief overview of structural study of the Bible.Chapter II: Detailed carding for several structural model of Bible study. It is divided into four sections. Section I takes Robert Culley's three kinds of story modes on the "Old Testament" as examples, looks at "narrative functionality mode" on the use of the Bible; Section II firstly introduce Levi-Strauss's" dual confrontation" mode taking Rich's analysis as an example, and further demonstrated how this model helps identifying the symbolism of the Bible. Section III analyses how Greimas "action element model" interpretates biblical structure and meaning through analysis of the Gospel. Section IV discusses the relationship between pattern and meaning, and points out that pattern is the meaning.Chapter III: Discussion of the Biblical study of Roland Barthes who attempts to get out structuralism. It has two sections. Section I first briefly introduces Roland Barthes' structuralism theory, combines with his "Genesis" 32:22-32 the "sequence function" analysis and "action element" analysis, to see his flexible use of the basic pattern of the structuralism. Section II focus on his analysis of Bible beyond the model of structuralism, but tend to seek meaningful pluralism, it is an early indication of post-structural tendencies.Chapter IV: Panorama of Structural Biblical study. It is divided into four sections. The first section is from structuralism and demonstrated the historical perspective of structuralism demonstrated the bible study of the history of the bible, the structure of exclusion methods and historical certain degree of combination; etc. Section II analyses the significance of biblical texts from the Bible as a structural literary point of view given; Section III discusses the resistance of the structural biblical study to the traditional theology authority; Section IV briefly discusses some of the flaws and shortcomings of the study.Conclusion: To sum up and state the author's view that the key of structural approach to the study of the Bible is flexible use of the Mode, it gives us new methods and ideas for further Bible study, and has a great significance for the development of Biblical Literature. |
