Tang Xianzu is a great dramatist in Ming dynasty,is honored as the"Oriental Shakespeare". Under the background of the suppression of humanity was more and more serious, Neo-Confucianism in Ming Dynasty Cheng and Zhu proclaimed"preserves the justice, extinguishes the human desire", Tang Xianzu raised "by the emotion counter-principle " banner. He praised enthusiastically the spirit of against feudal ethical code, the pursuit of happy free love and strong demand of individuality liberation through his works with the love stories of life and death. Through the warm praise, he revealed the most essential needs and natural instinct of human life which shining brilliance of human-nature consciousness. In the era of Neo-Confucianism suppressing human nature, Tang Xianzu's appearance has the great important significance,human-nature consciousness reflecting from his literary thought and works still has a positive meaning. With great interest of Tang Xianzu's literary thought,I am trying to interpret the literary theories of Tang Xianzu and his representative works from the view of human-nature consciousness. The preface of this thesis explain the purpose and significance; the concept of human-nature consciousness; Tang's life and thought; and the ideological background.The main part of the thesis is divided into six parts: the pursuit of"sincere emotion"; inspiration, charm,and ultra-reality manifestation; happy ideal and life consciousness; feminine consciousness and individuality liberation; exposure and criticism of"wicked emotion"; the value and the influence.
