In this thesis, the author attempts to investigate the relationship between the development of pop music and its background by adopting a"from point to surface"method through Liu Huan,a leading figure in this field,and also reviews the enlightenment for chinese pop music.Liu Huan, pioneer of Chinese pop music in 1970s and 1980s, had won warm praise from his fans by our familiar songs. Together with his dramatic life and inspirational force, he is marked by singing resounding songs. As a pop musician, he possesses larruping talent. Firmly pursuing makes him achieve innumerable honor. As a bridge of communication, music has no national boundaries. Only the artist who expresses music with heart can unfold this communication rules ideally to people all over the world. Fortunately, Liu meets such requirement. With his awe-inspiring-righteousness and resounding voice, Liu illustrates towards his motherland, his life, and the whole world.In this paper, the author starts with many aspects such as Liu's life, growth background, musical position and his works, analyses the variation of his works styles, adapting to society fashion trend; from the agreement of his works and mainstream ideology, the author studies how Liu's works meet receiver psychology demands; originated from people's aesthetic thinking and cultural orientation, the author investigated the effect of Liu's music to the epoch; with development of Liu's music, the author researched the status of Chinese pop music; in the reform process of Chinese cultural and article system, the author discussed the trend of pop music's globalization; finally, the author forecasted our music development path with Chinese characteristics combined with Liu's pop music.
