Feminist Trend Of Thought In Rock Music And Its Expression

This paper takes the feminist trend of thought in rock music and its expression as the research object to explore how the rock music expresses feminist thoughts through the practice of specific female rock musicians.Through the study we can find that women are neglected in the history of rock music in the case of the male hegemony in the rock music.However,in the process of creating rock music,female rock musicians are inspired by the different feminist theories to resist with the following three different means: the gender performativity which can blur the physical gender,the Somaestheics that show the physical characteristics of women and the text appropriation of the lyrics text.By doing this can not only provoke male hegemony but also prove that rock music is not just created by men,women's creativity can also be seen in this field.This kind of behavior can also extend the rock music and the combination of the rock music and feminist thoughts can provide multidimensional music forms and connotation for the rock music.
