Subject-object reversible sentence is a component of Modern Chinese Syntax System, which has caused grammarians' attention since the 1950s. They attempted to study it from different perspectives, which made the research on Modern Chinese Reversible Sentence develop from simple, local and sporadic stage to comprehensive, in-depth special research stage. Grammarians not only described the syntactic semantic type of reversible sentence, but also explained the reversible motive of reversible sentence deeply. However, the predecessors' explanation was not comprehensive and systematic enough, and there existed the situations such as the explanation is not so wide that the exceptions cannot be ruled out. It undoubtedly left an immense space for our future research.Under the overall frame of reversible sentence, the paper focuses on the relative problems of subject-object reversible sentence of which predicate is verb-complement structure.Besides preface and conclusion the whole paper conclucives five chapters as follows:Preface: first, we define subject-object reversible sentences and sort out the research history of subject-object reversible sentence by reference to structuralism language view; then we describe the paper's research range, research object and this paper's theoretic orientation and put forward the problems we should pay more attention to in research; at last, we expound the research purpose and the significance of Modern Chinese Subject-Object Reversible Sentence.Chapter One is an overview of the subject-object reversible sentence of which predicate is verb-complement structure.First, we discuss the features of the predicate being verb-complement structure of the subject-object reversible sentence, and according to complement's different grammar characteristics, they are classified: the subject-object reversible sentence of which predicate is verb-direction construction , the subject-object reversible sentence of which predicate is verb-adjective construction (the subject-object reversible sentence of which predicate is motional verb+self-change result complement, the subject-object reversible sentence of which predicate is motional verb+causing-change result complement), the subject-object reversible sentence of which predicate is psychological verb+complement of degree(death), and describe the sub-category.Chapter Two-Five are the paper's emphases, we divide the subject-object sentence of which predicate is verb-complement into four groups, and Chapter Two, Three, Four and Five discuss them respectively. First, we describe these semantic types of the subject-object reversible sentence of which predicate is verb-complement structure in details, and analyse the sentence's subject, object and predicate's grammar characteristics. We use case grammar to analyse sentence's semantic frame, discuss sentence semantic by means of construction grammar, study verb-complement construction's valence-matching type and features, and attempt to use Chomsky's transformational generative grammar theories to explore how predicate that is verb-complement construction of the subject-object reversible sentence develop from deep structure to surface structure, and attempt to expound the motives of the syntactic reversible from cognitive view. The last chapter is a conclusion in which we conclude the whole paper and point out the shortcoming and the further in-depth research problems in future.
