The Research Of Relieving Depression And Loneliness Of The Senior Citizen Through The Treatment Of Musical Therapy

Along with the social development and the longevity of human life, the senescent population around the world is growing gradually. Their physical and psychological health has become a social problem which calls for more and more public concern.Getting older and older gradually,people have to risk a higher rate of fall sick. As a result, irritation and anxiety gradually corrode everyone's mind , given all of this, on the health of elderly people. People aslo provide some necessary service, such as research of the prevention and treatment on the illness to improve their life quality.This paper has made some explorition on the application of musical therapy. according to the theory both on physical and psychological basis, we may raise two hypotheses"1.musical therapy can turn down the feeling of loneliness in the elder peoples mind. 2.musical therapy has the ability to remove some depression of senior citizens , we randomly select ten people from Xin Peng senile apartment in Chang Chun, we ask them to take are test before the treatment ,once a week, six weeks. We use the method of receiving music, imagination, creative music; music drawing; learning songs.Then we ask them to take the test again. Given by the analysis between two tests, the average score of USLA loneliess scale is M=50.4 and M=39.6 on the other side, GDS M=22.6 and M=50.3, the feelings of loneliness and depression respectively reduce by 21.4% and 32.2%.The effort is remarkable.Musical therapy in China is still moving slowly, but an increasing number of people accept if for its special methods.I t's clinical effectiveness in research and application is gradually proved.
